Overview

Many clients have referred to our oldest database, SQAD Spot TV, simply as SQAD. We continue to build the value of Spot TV, including adding greater reliability on the low and high indicators along with more dayparts and demos. SQAD Spot TV provides CPP (cost per point) and CPM (cost per thousand) estimates for all 210 Nielsen DMAs. SQAD's proprietary contributor-based methodology assures users of reliable market-by-market data, using actual buys - real market costs.

 

NEW ORLEANS UPDATE: Effective with the February 2008 issue, New Orleans SQAD Spot TV costs are available.

 

NOTE:  USING SQAD IN THE NEW LOCAL PEOPLE METER MARKETS:  As Nielsen converts some of the larger markets from diaries to local people meter (LPM) measurement, buys will be coming into SQAD using LPM estimates and incorporated into our database.  Data prior to July 2004 is based primarily on diary information; after July 2004, contributors use LPM or a combination of LPM/diaries from an historical perspective.  As contributors don't indicate which source or combination (LPM VS. diary) they are using, we don’t know the proportions used.  In markets where diary and LPMs are used simultaneously, LPM data is favored.   Over the coming months, our database will continue to be based on more LPM information.  We suggest monitoring activity in individual markets in our MarketTrend report vs. July 2004.
